High School Achievements
- Liz loved the arts programs at EHS, she took painting and photography classes with Richard Krake
- Involved in musical productions all four years including the Mikado, City of Angels, 42nd Street, and Fiddler on the Roof; performed in choir, jazz choir, and show choir

- BA in Art History from UW–Madison
- MA and PhD in Art History from Indiana University with fellowships at the New York Public Library and the Smithsonian American Art Museum Renwick Gallery

- Ann S. and Samuel M. Mencoff Curator of Arts of the Americas at the Art Institute of Chicago, where she has worked since 2009
- Editor and co-author of Silver in the Art Institute of Chicago (2017) and Perspective on Place (2023)
- Curated installations and exhibitions including Photography + Folk Art: Looking for America in the 1930s (2019) and Landscape in Light: The Tiffany Window at the Art Institute of Chicago (2021)
